Documentary. Background music and soundtrack.
A documentary which analyses the livelihoods and challenges of those working in contemporary European small-scale fisheries from the perspective of two small fishing communities: one from the Italian island of Lampedusa, the other from Gran Tarajal, on the Spanish island of Fuerteventura. Communities such as these struggle to survive, simultaneously pressured on the one hand by EU fishery legislation and by industrial overfishing on the other. These issues are particularly felt in outlying territories of the EU such as the ones explored by this documentary.
